This Privacy Policy explains how Rovly handles information when you explore coffee beans, record brewing recipes, compare roast notes, share coffee photos or tips, report content, use paid features, and interact with related services.

1. Scope and Service Description

Rovly ("Rovly," "we," "us," or "our") provides a coffee brewing and coffee bean learning app for organizing brewing recipes, bean origin notes, roast profiles, grind settings, tasting impressions, community posts, and paid digital features (collectively, the "Service").

This Privacy Policy applies to the Service, including the mobile app, account features, coffee logs, brew guides, bean knowledge features, user-generated content features, analytics, support, safety tools, and any service that links to this policy.

2. Adult Use and Caffeine Notice

Rovly is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. By using Rovly, you confirm that you are 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a person under 18 has used the Service, we may delete the account, remove related content, and delete information where appropriate.

Caffeine notice: Rovly provides coffee education and brewing organization only. It is not a medical, nutrition, allergy, pregnancy-health, or caffeine-safety advisory service. If caffeine affects you medically or you have dietary restrictions, consult a qualified professional.

3. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: email address, username, display name, password or login credentials, age confirmation, language, profile settings, and support details.
  • Coffee and brewing records: bean names, origin, roast level, grind size, brewing method, ratio, temperature, brew time, tasting notes, favorite recipes, photos, and learning preferences.
  • User Content: posts, comments, brew tips, bean reviews, tasting notes, photos, reports, messages, feedback, appeals, and profile information.
  • Support and safety information: emails, complaint details, abuse reports, content reports, reviewer notes, moderation actions, and enforcement records.
  • Purchase information: product identifiers, subscription status, purchase dates, renewal or expiration status, refund status, transaction identifiers, and premium access status. Apple processes App Store payments; we do not receive your full payment card number from Apple.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and app data: device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, diagnostic data, crash logs, and performance data.
  • Usage data: screens viewed, features used, brew guides opened, logs created, dates and times of activity, session events, and interaction data.
  • Security data: IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, login events, fraud-prevention signals, suspicious activity records, and abuse-prevention logs.
  • Cookies or similar technologies: if web-based features are used, cookies, local storage, pixels, or similar tools may support sign-in, preferences, analytics, security, and service operation.

4. Coffee Learning, Brewing Records, and Your Choices

Rovly may let you record coffee bean preferences, brewing recipes, taste impressions, equipment notes, and learning progress. You choose what to enter. Do not enter private addresses, payment card numbers, government IDs, medical details, or information you do not want processed by Rovly.

If you share coffee photos, tasting notes, brew recipes, or bean reviews publicly, other users may view them depending on the feature and settings.

5. User-Generated Content, Reports, and Moderation

Rovly may include user-generated content features, such as coffee bean reviews, brew comments, tasting discussions, profile content, photos, and reports. Some User Content may be visible to other users depending on the feature and settings.

We do not tolerate objectionable content or abusive users. Prohibited content includes pornography, sexually explicit content, disturbing or disgusting content, harassment, hate speech, discrimination, political discrimination, gambling, drug-related content, threats, illegal activity, exploitation, spam, fraud, and rights-infringing content.

We may collect and process reports, reported content, block actions, reviewer notes, enforcement history, safety signals, and appeal materials. We may remove content, restrict features, suspend or terminate accounts, preserve evidence, or report matters to authorities where appropriate.

6. How We Use Information

Brew ToolsProvide recipe logs, bean notes, favorites, guides, settings, and account sync.
Community SafetyModerate content, review reports, block abusive users, reduce spam, and secure accounts.
App QualityDiagnose crashes, analyze feature performance, fix bugs, and improve coffee learning tools.
  • To provide, operate, maintain, personalize, and improve the Service.
  • To authenticate users, manage accounts, and respond to support requests.
  • To verify App Store purchase entitlements and premium access.
  • To send administrative notices, safety notices, policy updates, reminders, and purchase-related messages.
  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, and establish or defend legal claims.
  • To show or measure advertising only where permitted and, where required, only with your consent.

7. GDPR and Similar Legal Bases

If the General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), UK GDPR, or similar laws apply, we process personal data under one or more of these legal bases:

  • Contract: to provide the Service, manage accounts, deliver paid features, and enforce accepted terms.
  • Consent: for optional tracking, optional marketing, optional permissions, or processing that requires consent.
  • Legitimate interests: to secure the Service, improve features, prevent fraud, moderate User Content, respond to reports, and protect users.
  • Legal obligations: to comply with laws, tax, accounting, court orders, consumer protection rules, and regulatory obligations.
  • Vital interests or public interest: where necessary to protect someone from serious harm or where otherwise permitted by law.

8. App Tracking Transparency

If Rovly seeks to track your activity across other companies' apps or websites for advertising, advertising measurement, or similar purposes, Rovly will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework where required.

Suggested ATT description: "Rovly would like permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites to personalize coffee-related ads, measure advertising performance, and improve the brewing and coffee bean learning experience."

You may allow or deny tracking. We will not track you across other companies' apps or websites unless you authorize tracking where required. You may change your choice in your device settings. Non-tracking analytics, security, purchase fulfillment, fraud prevention, and core service operations may continue as permitted by law and Apple rules.

9. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

Rovly may offer paid digital features, premium brewing guides, coffee bean lessons, tasting tools, subscriptions, or other in-app purchases. Purchases are processed through Apple's App Store in accordance with Apple's rules.

Before completing a purchase, the App Store will display purchase information such as product name, price, subscription period where applicable, renewal terms where applicable, billing frequency, free trial terms if any, and confirmation that payment will be charged to your Apple ID. Apple may manage billing, taxes, refunds, renewal, cancellation, and payment methods.

10. How Information May Be Shared

  • With other users: shared posts, profile information, comments, photos, brew recipes, bean reviews, and tasting notes may be visible depending on features and settings.
  • With service providers: hosting, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, moderation, security, support, email, and payment entitlement providers.
  • With Apple and platform providers: for purchases, app operations, App Store compliance, fraud prevention, and platform functionality.
  • For safety and legal reasons: to comply with law, enforce terms, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, protect users, and protect rights.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, or sale of assets.
  • With consent: when you direct us to share information or otherwise consent.

We do not sell personal information for money. If privacy laws define "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising more broadly, you may have rights to opt out as described in this policy.

11. Retention, Security, Transfers, and Rights

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Service, maintain accounts, process purchases, comply with law, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and protect legal rights. Moderation records may be retained longer to protect the community and prevent repeat abuse.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, and where required we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and the right not to be subject to certain decisions based solely on automated processing. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection authority.
